Fully taught step by step instruction with 2-4 classes of exercises (@ the start considering evaluation of current skill set) or more and then moving into project based learning by drawing from your own images or photographs which typically last 2-5 classes depending on the project.
BEGINNING PICASSO: (Ages 3-5yrs old ONLY)- finished project each class, cut and paste collage, mini painting explorations, drawing and more. All supplies included, 30 minutes - 1 hour classes depending on age. ($30-35$) If they can sit for an hour then I would suggest an hour because art is a process that can take some time.
SCAPA PREP: (spring, summer and fall before their 3rd grade year and any grade after if applying for a fill in spot) Email Inquire only please @ email@example.com. I do start them with a course in drawing (3-5 classes) and a course in painting (3-5 classes) prior to SCAPA prep and the reason behind that is because they need these skills to work the projects for scapa. Due to the nature of Scapa I do not help them complete the projects for the audition portfolio because that has to be all their own work but I encourage them to call upon skills they have already learned in my foundations courses. Scapa prep is a 2-4 month prep course or less depending on time and skill level to help them learn about the audition, put the portfolio together and give them the supplies and space to do the work. My goal is to give them the confidence and tools to tackle the audition and have fun.
INSTRUCTOR: That's me, Victoria. I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky Art Education program back in 2013. I started this business teaching in 2014. I have kids and adults come through my programs every year and love the one on one instruction. I have a cozy backyard "she-shed" space that gets the creativity flowing. I am an oil painter and when I am not teaching I am creating pet portraits for clients. I also ride horses, enjoy the outdoors with my husband and cooking. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have and I look forward to helping you and your children build on an art portfolio.
